About the Course

As the name suggests we are a Parkland Golf Club with a rich history. The club is sited on the Trentham Park Estate, alongside Trentham Gardens.

The Barry gardens and 4th Trentham Hall were the result of works commenced by the 2nd Duke of Sutherland, George Granville, who was also responsible for the private Golf Course, comprising 5 holes, created in an area then known as Fern Hills. A more detailed history can be found on our web site.

In the main the golf holes are tree lined and water comes into play on a few of our holes. We have gender free tees and the length of the course ranges from 5255 yards to 6390 yards depending on the tee you choose.

Due to the layout of the course it gives you many options to play the full 18 holes or if you only feel like playing few holes there are various loops you can choose ranging from 7 holes to 12 holes, which lead you back to the clubhouse.

Trentham Park today is a place to play great golf in charming, wooded surroundings

Set in the heart of North Staffordshire, on land which was once occupied by the Duke of Sutherland. In fact the golf course sits at the very edge of Trentham Estates, some of the old deer fence can still be seen today on our 12th hole.

The course draws golfers from a wide area – proof of the unique characteristics of the Club.

The course has recently had the greens re-designed by Steve Marnoch the international golf course architect. The clubhouse has recently been re- furbished and the food served there is as good as the course.

The Clubhouse has an air of friendliness and also that unusual thing – atmosphere. No visitor need ever remain out of place at Trentham Park. For years, the club has had a reputation for the friendliness of its members, and that tradition is as strong today as it ever was.

The Club has produced many fine golfers whose names are well known. Ernest Millward and Geoffrey Marks both former Walker Cup players lived beside the course and as lads played their first golf there. Geoffrey Mills, the well-known Midlands amateur champion and former Staffordshire champion was also a member.

The club gives every encouragement to juniors and has produced such well known golfers as David Gilford (Walker Cup, Ryder Cup player and English Amateur Champion), Simon Wakefield, European Tour player, and Sarah Gallagher, the 1996 English Ladies Amateur Stroke Play Champion.

    Course Status

You can find out if the course is open or if there are any buggy restrictions by ringing 01782 642635 or via the ‘Trentham Park Golf Club (TPGC) App.

The App is available for Apple and Android by searching for ClubVI.

    Dress Code

As with most golf clubs Trentham Park operate a strict dress code on the course and clubhouse which can be found on the club website. In general our requirements are inline with decent standards, which only go to enhance the reputation of the club. So it’s definitely worth a read as it goes into detail for what is required for club presentations and the various rooms we have this will save any embarrassing situations.

Members are reminded it is they who set the standards and are responsible at all times for their guest’s standard of play, etiquette, dress and decorum both on the course and clubhouse.

    Buggy Policy

Our buggy policy can be viewed via the club website.

Every effort has gone into our policy to properly comply with the legal requirements which are quite extensive. Restricting the holes for buggy users is something we regret but have to do from time to time for both buggy user safety and course protection. Of late we have made great strides by additional paths around the course to extend holes available and this will be an on going project.

The use of privately owned buggies, single seat ride-on buggies is permitted only by prior application to the Club Manager, and in line with any trolley ban etc.

Buggies can be stored and re-charged at the club for an annual fee of £40. Buggies can be dangerous if driven without due care.

Please always drive any buggies with due consideration to your own safety as well as that of other passengers/players. All buggies must be operated in accordance with our Golf Buggy Safety Policy (displayed at the pro shop and on each buggy).

    Bar Opening Time

Our bar and restaurant are open Tuesday-Sunday, serving a fantastic selection of home cooked food, over looking the magnificent views of both the golf course and estate.
